Factor 1 Size Believe it or not size actually does mater when it comes down to buying a laptop or notebook and I don't been the memory size no no that comes later I mean physical size If your buying a regular PC size and weight doesn't really matter that much but when your buying a laptop or notebook its one of the most important things to look out for.
Don't get me wrong the actual technical specs of the computer are very important as well its just that you don't want the most advanced laptop in the world and then not be able to carry it into college the next day or fit it into any man made laptop bags.
Factor 2 Technical requirements of your notebook
Before you purchase your laptop you must consider the technical specs of your new machine. It must be capable of doing the tasks and choirs you purchased it for. If you haven't the first clue about computer specs like me ask in store or consult the internet your sure to find the answer to your computer problems. If you have picked both the size and the specs of your new notebook the right size and specs best suited for your needs. Now it's time to look at some Reviews...
Factor 3 Reviews and ratings Its pretty obvious in fairness but the first thing you should do before you head to PC world with your specs and size worked out and your hard earned cash ready to e spent on some mega machine is to pop into Easons and pick up an issue of a trusted PC magazine.
These tomes of knowledge will tell you all you need to know about laptops and webcams and all those other shiny gizmos that you've just got to have but most importantly the best magazines will have a review and rating section where they will take the newly released laptops and tell if they are worth parting with your money for. In most magazines they will also come with a price guide telling you where you can buy this machines cheap and where you cant. Basically these magazines are priceless and you could really help you save a lot of money.
Factor 4 After purchase care This is really important, after you have picked your laptop and get over that flutter of excitement as you watch the store man pack it into its fancy box you should ask about after purchase care. It is well worth forking out seventy or eighty quid for 3 years warranty cause you know what computers are like. you will have it two weeks and the damned thing will crash on you when you need it most. So its worth being able to pop into the store where you purchased your machine and getting the stores tech wizards fix your laptop with a few typed keys and have it purring serenely again. Especially when you need the computer for the big presentation the next morning.
So theirs my 4 Factor guide to buying a PC I hope it comes in handy foe whoever reads it.
Though I know full well no one will.
Peace

The Ipod Revolution
Step into any bus, train, plane or fitness center and you will see something that you never would have even dreamed of five years ago. White wires snaking out of small boxes and ending up in our ears.
I am of course talking about the ipod.
The chances are that even as you read this music is being pumped into your ears or you are watching a recently downloaded episode of South park while trying your hardest not to snigger laughing in public.
You are no doubt in possession of one of the 60million -and growing fast- ipods sold buy apple in the last five years and you may congratulate yourself because you are part of a revolution that has helped topple the idea of record companies, cds and broadcasts.
Yes there have been complaints about the ipod. Their batteries fade to soon apparently the on-off button can be an absolute nightmare and it costs a fortune to buy songs off itunes.
But none of this has stopped ipodmania it has become so popular that even its name is being used as a metaphor. A survey in 2005 should that the favorite hobby among college students was to listen to their ipods.
The ipod has changed us a lot, we no longer need the personal space we used to as we feel more protected in our personal bubble soundtrack, the easy accessibility of music and videos on the go with the new ipod touch with its internet access.
The ipod was also the launching pad for the phenomenon Podcasting. If anyone is still unsure of these and needs an explanation these are digital sound files distributed over the Internet; users can subscribe to them and have them automatically uploaded to their computers and iPods.
Apple upped the ante in this department in 2005 by selling commercial-free episodes of television shows on the iTunes Store, essentially treating multimillion-dollar hourlong dramas as podcasts. No problem if you miss an episode of scrubs or misfits as you can just download the episode off itunes for a modest fee.
Its clear to me that we are indeed the child of the ipod and we will stay that way for some time to come.

The Political Implication of Video Games
In the last few years there has been a great deal of argument regarding video games and whether they have any true meaning or not or are they just an outlet for mindless violent entertainment.
Both sides pose many arguments trying to discredit the other sides points and opinions.
Those against computer games argue that video games are mostly concerned with death and bloodshed and that spending hours every day blowing up and murdering everything and everyone in sight is not only meaningless it also encourages aggressive behavior in those that play the games.
With the increase in more powerful machines and more realistic graphics most argue that as the violence becomes more realistic players of these games will become desensitized to violence and will no longer see that gap between game and reality.
The argument against those opposed to video games is that although years ago video games were in fact more meaningless and that you were supposed to destroy everything in sight the concept of video games has moved on and advanced.
Today's video games have far more complex story lines. It is no longer clear between the 'good' side and the 'bad' side and players find themselves in situations where they have to make decisions as to who is good and who isn't.
In this situations the player has to make a number of moral judgments considering the ramifications of any actions taken.
In many of today's video games players have the choice of deciding what gender, race, group or faction they play as. This allows players to see things from more than one angle.
Very often there are religious, political and other social divide which can separate the player from the storyline and by investigating the game more they can untangle the layers around the situation and make calculated decisions as to what they should do.
Unlike many older games there is often no right or wrong answer or a defined correct course of action just alternative actions and results.
By killing one person or saving another the social ramifications could spread far and wide and it might not be till later on in the game that we will notice the true consequences.
This increase in focus on such deep matters makes modern gaming anything but mindless and it can be argued that modern video games can actually have a role to play in helping people to understand the wider story of a real world situation.
